Winter Weary...

It has been five weeks since we have had a Monday at school... I think we are going to finally achieve a full week of school this week as our weekly snowstorm is arriving Saturday night instead of Sunday into Monday...

The kids have been doing a lot of painting but the Monday and Tuesday morning classes are woefully behind and I'm resigned to the fact that I am going to have to redesign a couple of lessons to catch those classes up with what the others have already completed...

I'm starting to run low on certain colors, yellow tempera especially... I need to readjust the quantities I will have to order for next year...

My 4th Grades have been having a lot of fun with mono-printing these last couple of classes...

3d Grade worked within a heart shape for their mono-prints...

I spent a few days on our President's Break diving into the crochet rabbit hole and binging on Netflix... the result is my finished version of the Cowl Neck Poncho from Simply Crochet magazine...

I'm very happy with it and it's super warm and cozy... great for the cold, cold weather we are having now and it will be a great cover for cool mornings in the Spring ( when Spring finally gets here... )

I need to start surrounding myself with color and "Spring" things as I am severely Winter weary...

I have to start to purge the Winter from my life and pull some Spring in... I think i'm going to start with some Spring cleaning at home today....

                                                                     Have a great week!

It's Snowing Here Again...

                                                          and I've been doodling....

                                                            and longing for Spring....

I don't hate winter, I'm just tired of being cold and having to bundle up like an eskimo every day...

... I will miss wearing boots but my feet long for sandals and the freedom of no socks...

My Friday afternnoon Sensory Art group made some beautiful Winter Bird scenes...

Second Grade made some of their own a different way, different objectives...

This beauty is a modified version for a student with different needs for a successful creative experience
First Grade has been painting flower fields...

Kindergarten has been printing with bubble wrap to create an interesting background for their next project...

Fourth Grade is finishing up their Gyotaku... ( these Snow Days are killing my schedule...)

Fifth Grade has started working on some 1 Point Perspective...

Third grade created some great pieces for the school's "Surfing the Wave of Kindness" week in January...

I love all the great details in this one...  :)

Personally,  I finished a pillow I started to teach myself how to "join as you go" ...

I can do all kinds of stitches but that technique always threw me off... I think I've got it now...

I started yet another shawl project even though I have two others going on right now...

I did some sewing one of our Snow Days...

I made a new school bag from a canvas I painted last summer... ( ignore the cat tail photo bomb )

I finally got to use some cool looking tye-dye fabric I bought on sale last summer! Made it the lining...

I'm really happy with how it turned out and it's a great size, not too big and not too small...

I took the handles off another tote I got for free somewhere and the bottom is the leg of a pair of jeans I bought from Costco on the cheap for just this thing...

I hope everyone is staying warm if you are in the same frozen zone...
Have a great weekend and a creative week!
