Another Snow Day...

We got 15 inches of snow today... my son's car was completely enveloped in snow! At one point the snow was falling at the rate of 2-3 inches an hour the weatherman said, I believe it. There was no school today just about every where in NJ.  The mall was even closed! It had to be bad for that event to happen! ( I worked there in high school and college, they NEVER close) I shoveled the driveway this morning to get a jump on it, by the time I got to the bottom there was another four inches at the top! I just shoveled from the bottom back up! We had a family shoveling session this afternoon when the snow stopped around 2:30 pm. Around 5:00 we walked back in...

I decided to play around with some left over yarn, I'm bored with the blue shawl I am working on at the moment...  just got a phone call that there is no school again tomorrow so maybe I will finish the blue shawl tomorrow so I don't feel guilty about it sitting there staring at me every time I sit down...

That funny looking thing outside my kitchen window is my grill which is now completely covered in snow.  There is actually a couple of feet of snow there! My daughter asked me when I might be grilling our burgers again , yeah not for a while...

My driveway top before we shoveled... The News 12 weather dude is on and telling me we are getting another 3-6 inches of snow tonight!!! Aaaaaaggghhhhh!!!!!!  There is literally NO PLACE to put it! The piles of snow on the sides of my driveway are above my shoulders!( I'm 5'6" ) It took forever to dig out the mailbox so the mailman can get his truck up to it! All you can see of it is the mailbox, that's it... it looks like it's just resting on a giangunda pile of snow!

I'm so mad at that groundhog right now...  really 6 more weeks of this?

  1. Loved your groundhog statement. We had a half day today so we wouldn't have to make it up. Tomorrow is still up in the air but we are suppose to get the 2-3" an hour starting at midnight.

    1. Poor groundhog it's really not his fault, I just needed someone to blame! :) I woke up to I think 3-4 more inches but i can't be sure because we had a lot of wind last night and it drifted everywhere. You can't see my grill anymore because the back yard drifted so badly last night! No school again today... we are going to be going until July ( seriously)

    2. Out today here, too. I just came in from clearing the driveway. What usually take an hour max took an hour and a half. I think we had another 8" this morning. It is still flurrying and the wind is starting to kick in. I think we will see that blowing and drifting today. I'm gonna stay warm and do some homework for the rest of the day - AOE assessment class.

I've only heard great things so I'm excited to start! :)

  2. I know you are fed up with snow, but there is a quiet beauty to it. I hope your power stays on and you are able to get the blue shawl done, you can call it the snow day shawl.
    Hugs and Happy V-Day,
    Meredith

  3. We're snowed in here in NH too. Four kids off for 5 days--I'm sane now, but I'm not sure how long it will last! :-)

    1. I hear you! Mine are teens now but I so remember what it was like to have the 2 of them cooped up together for days when they were little! Yikes! :)
